At work and school you’re a high achiever but in your personal life you feel like you’re constantly behind.
You’ve read all of the books and listened to all of the podcasts on how to be the best student, sibling, friend, parent, spouse… but it never feels like enough. It feels like you have to give more and more of yourself and there is less and less for you. Any time you do take for yourself you feel guilty and doubt whether you really needed it.
Maybe you’ve tried therapy in the past and you still feel stuck. There’s a disconnect between what you logically know and what you emotionally know. You’re tired of being stuck in a cycle of feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, and feeling like you’re “too sensitive.” You want to trust yourself and may not know where to start.
Hi, I’m Emily!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and have supported teens and adults in clinic, school based, and private practice settings since July 2020.
I am passionate about helping teens and adults to overcome their self doubt and create a life led by their values instead of their fears. My warm, curious, compassionate, and collaborative approach helps you to feel supported, empowered, and heard as I help you learn more about yourself, your wants and needs, and to feel more competent and relieved as you meet them.
I have experience with helping individuals who are seeking therapy for reflective purposes, navigating life changes, or who want to get relief from their anxiety, OCD, ARFID/disordered eating, or trauma. I utilize parts work, Mindful Self Compassion (MSC), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Brainspotting to help you better understand yourself and work towards your goals. I am LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent affirming and encourage you to bring in fidgets or comfort items you have to support your healing.
When I am not conducting sessions I love spending my time with my rescue dogs, Fig and Moose, hiking, gardening, reading, and crafting with friends and family.
